AXCESS International Enhances Unique RFID Method for Precision Position Determination of Enterprise Assets and Personnel

DALLAS, TX, May 25, 2006 — AXCESS International Inc. (OTCBB: AXSI), a leading provider of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions and Real Time Location Systems (RTLS), announced today an enhancement to their method for providing positioning and directional capabilities for RFID applications. The innovation is being brought to market in the new Dual Activator™ product. The Dual Activator is based on the Company’s ActiveTag™ platform that provides automatic tracking of personnel, assets, and vehicles as required in multiple industries, including those which use tracking for security, logistics, and operations effectiveness. The patent pending solution has been installed in multiple industry applications and is available for purchase.

Other RFID systems only identify tags within a zone area and don’t provide exact location or direction of travel for tags within the zone. In the past, RFID providers have had to use expensive methods such as two different readers, guestimation techniques or added switches to determine direction of objects. The Dual Activator provides a high precision method for determining position of people and assets.

Level of distinction for location is critical when you’re doing perimeter control, for example laptop management, because you need to determine whether the asset and personnel left the building and not just walked near or into the door. Axcess has implemented the precise direction capability today for monitoring secure assets such as casino access keys, data tapes, and law records. The need for direction capability is essential for hands-free access control, transportation, logistics, emergency evacuation, vehicle monitoring and more.

The Dual Activator writes its own ID to the tag, which is then retransmitted, along with the tag's unique ID, to provide the tag's location and direction at time of activation. The AXCESS precise directional and positional capability is the most cost effective solution because it connects directly to two transmit antennas to provide an activation signal that awakens tags as they pass through both antenna fields. Installation costs are also reduced since only one activator is required for mounting, cabling, and supplied power.

AXCESS’ patented ActiveTagTM RFID systems use small, battery powered tags (generically called “semiactive” tags) that when automatically activated, transmit a wireless message typically 30 to 100 feet to hidden palm size receivers. The receivers are connected via standard network simultaneously to the enterprise system software, the existing security alarm equipment, and standalone management software. Optionally, the tag system can be used to trigger security video recording and live remote video transmission. The tags are used for a variety of enterprise productivity applications including automatic personnel access control and tracking, automatic vehicle access control and payload management, automatic asset management and protection, as well as special purpose sensing. Automatic email alerting and paging is offered for rapid response to security related incidents. More information is available from the Company’s web site at www.axcessinc.com.
